Truth Heart Song

The God of all creation took the time to carefully design you, and he made you wonderful! Join us today as we continue to learn more of Psalm 139 and discover just how carefully God crafted each and every one of us. Sing along to Wonderful from Psalm 139:13-16 (NIV).

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

In today’s episode, I refer to a great online devotion from Pastor Louie Monteith on the website ShepherdtoSheep.com about how Psalm 139 speaks to God’s omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence. It’s a great overview of the things we’ve learned in THS episodes 4, 5, and 6. Check it out! https://www.shepherdtosheep.com/post/the-three-omnis

No matter where we are or how dark it is, we can’t escape God. He’s everywhere, with His hand ready to guide us. Join us today as we explore the heights and depths of God’s presence with a simple melody to help us remember Psalm 139:7-12 (NIV).

Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there.
If I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
you right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,”
even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

God knows us. He knows EVERYTHING about us…when we sit, when we rise, when we lie down, where we go, all our thoughts and all our words - even before we know them! Join us today as we explore and praise the depths of God’s all-encompassing knowledge of us by learning Psalm 139 verses 1 through 6 in song.

You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise;     you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down;     you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.

Jesus said that all of God’s laws come from two great commands - loving God and loving others. That sums it all up! Join us for a continuation of last episode’s work by adding on Matthew 22:39 and 40 (NIV) to our song.

            And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

We want our hearts full of God’s truth, because He teaches us through His word. But, if we don't have God's word hidden in our hearts, our tanks are empty.  In this first episode  of the Truth Heart Song podcast, we will will help fill our tanks up by learning a song for Psalm 119:11 (NIV).

         I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
